TriCounty Health Department Begins Scheduling Public
Vernal, UT Jan. 14, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) is now scheduling appointments for adults 70 years old and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
TCHD nursing staff is working tirelessly to vaccinate educators quickly and looking forward to moving into the 70 years and older population of the tri-county area. TCHD has partnered with Utah Department of Health (UDOH) and the COVID-19 hotline to help with the influx of calls TCHD has been receiving as people are signing up on a list to be called for scheduling.
“We are excited that so many of the elderly community is interested in the COVID-19 vaccine and ask that the community be patient as we get schedules worked out and appointments made.” KayCee Asay, director of nursing at TCHD, said. “As long as we have vaccine available, we will be administering the vaccine, it may take time to get everyone scheduled but we are working daily to accommodate.”
Anyone 70 years old or older that is interested in the COVID-19 vaccine can call the COVID-19 hotline (1-800-456-7707), choose option 6 by pressing 6 on your phone and press 1 to talk to a live person. They will take name, phone number and city where you live and someone from TCHD will get in contact and schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
After an appointment is made, it is imperative that the appointment is kept. The COVID-19 vaccine is time and temperature sensitive. If an appointment is missed the appointment may be replaced with another appointment.
When someone arrives for the vaccine they will get information about the vaccine, risks, and v-safe information. After receiving the vaccine, individuals are monitored for 15 minutes to ensure there are no reactions prior to leaving the facility.
