TCHD Vaccine Distribution Plans underway

Vernal, UT Jan. 25, 2021TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) is anticipating quick scheduling for COVID-19 vaccinations for those in the 70 years old and older wave. The National Guard has come in to assist TCHD in scheduling and other areas where help is needed as TCHD works to vaccinate as many individuals as possible. The National Guard will be assisting TCHD Jan. 25-Jan. 29, 2021.

Vaccination depends greatly on the supply shipped to TCHD, as shipments of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrive, appointments will be available. TCHD is currently working on an online scheduling system that will allow anyone in the age group to schedule their own appointment via the COVID-19 update page on tricountyhealth.com. This system will be announced as it goes live on the TCHD webpage.

“We are excited that so many people in the 70 years old and older age group are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” Director of Nursing at TCHD, KayCee Asay said. “We ask the public to remain patient as we work with the National Guard to schedule as many people as quickly as we can.”

TCHD is no longer using the COVID-19 hotline. Individuals can call TCHD’s main office at 435-247-1177 and choose the option for COVID-19 vaccinations, leave a voicemail message with their name, age and phone number. Anyone leaving a message will soon be contacted as appointments are available until the website has online scheduling. Online scheduling is anticipated to be later in the week to early next week. TCHD is currently vaccinating the 70 and older age group concurrent with educators that have yet to be vaccinated.
