PROGRAM BENEFITS
Tai Chi for Arthritis/Fall prevention incorporates exercises that improve muscular strength, flexibility and fitness. The Tai Chi for Arthritis/Health program also focuses on weight transference, which improves balance and prevents falls. The slow, gentle outward movements decrease stress, increase energy and lubricate the joints which ease the effects of arthritis, stiffness and general aging ailments. Tai Chi is an enjoyable exercise that can relieve your pain, improve your health, and increase your mobility.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Tai Chi for Arthritis/Health is an evidenced based class, 1-hour class led by a trained instructor. It’s easy and fun to learn. Tai Chi is a graceful form of exercise that involves a series of movements, known as forms, which are performed in a slow, focused manner combined with controlled breathing. It is a low impact exercise that puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it suitable for many older adults or people with mobility issues. Like dance, the movements are learned and follow one after the other. Tai Chi does not require special equipment and can be practiced indoors or outdoors, either alone or in a group.
