Vernal, UT Jan. 11, 2023TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) will begin offering its Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention classes in Roosevelt on Jan. 18, 2023, at the USU Extension from 3 pm to 4 pm every Wednesday.

Tai Chi will continue to be offered every Tuesday at 10 am at the Golden Age Center in Vernal. The classes are designed to accommodate anybody, with sitting routines and standing routines. TCHD Tai Chi is to help prevent falls, ease body aches from arthritis and help give a relaxing meditation to your day.

“Even with it being for fall prevention and arthritis, you can join at any age. It’s free and there is no prior sign up,” Ailsynn Weaver, TCHD Tai Chi instructor, said. “It’s also a great way to take a pause, reconnect with your body and socialize.”

Participants will learn Tai Chi movements proven to reduce falls by 70 percent and will learn new forms each week following a warm up and breathing exercise.

Classes for Tai Chi are Tuesdays from 10 am to 11 am at the Golden Age Center in Vernal (330 Aggie Blvd.) and Wednesdays from 3 pm to 4pm at USU Extension in Roosevelt (57 N 100 E).
