TriCounty follows the disease plan created by the Utah Department of Health:
Please see below for local exposure protocol.
Please Call 435-247-1156 to reach conact tracers if your student has had a household or community exposure to COVID-19.
A close contact is defined as being within six feet of a person who is infectious for a total of 15 minutes or longer (cumulative, within a 24-hour period).
Household Exposure:
A household exposure is considered any exposure occurring at home, with close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual living in the same home.
If there is a positive individual living in your home, it is recommended that sturdents sharing the household not attend school for the duration of their exposure to an infected person in the home, plus 10 additional days.
If the positive individual is able to isolate away for 10 days, the other students may return to school after day 10.
If the positive individual is not able to isolate away from contact with other household members; those exposed to the positive individual should quarantine for 10 days after the last day of exposure.
A student that has experienced a household exposure shouldn’t return to school after testing negative on day seven. It is not recommended to attend school until the end of the 10 day quarantine.
It is important to work closely with TriCounty Health Department contact tracers during your quarantine period 435-247-1156
Community Exposure:
Community exposure is considered any exposure that does not occur in the household or at school or a school sponsored event.
It is recommended, students experiencing a community exposure to COVID-19 quarantine from school for 10 days. The individual may choose to get tested on day seven after exposure to return to school activities.

School exposures:
School exposure is considered any exposure occurring at school or any school sponsored activities.
TriCounty staff will rely on the assistance of school personnel to help identify individuals who meet the criteria of school exposures and close contacts.
Masks are currently NOT mandatory
Masks are encouraged if an individual is considered high risk or is living with or caring for someone high risk, and for all unvaccinated individuals.
After an exposure, an exposed individual MAY choose to either stay home for 10 days OR return to school if masked. Choosing the masked option necessitates wearing a mask when indoors at school for 10 days (may test on day 7 and remove mask if test is negative).
