Radon

Radon is a naturally occurring gas that comes up from the ground. You can’t see or smell it, but if this gas gets into your home, it can be very dangerous to your health and cause lung cancer. One in three homes in Utah has harmful levels of radon. Test kits can be ordered for $11 on www.radon.utah.gov and are very easy to use.

If you find any harmful levels of radon in your home, the next thing to do is speak with a certified radon mitigation specialist. The solution may be as simple as increasing the air circulation in your home, or you may need to install a venting system under your home.

Water

How clean is the water you are drinking? Our environmental lab in Vernal can test the water for total coliform bacteria and E. coli for only $20 per sample. Samples can be brought in to our Vernal office at 133 S 500 E, East entrance, Monday-Wednesday from 8 a.m.-4 pm. We also have collection bottles from the State Lab to test for CDC’s recommendations. Come in today to get your test bottles.

METHAMPHETAMINE

Did you know the residue left behind after smoking or cooking meth can be harmful to your health? If you think your home may be contaminated by meth, come into either of our offices to pick up a test kit. Samples are easy to collect and inexpensive to mail to ALS lab and have tested.

If you find that your house is contaminated, the next step is to consult with a certified decontamination specialist. Below is an updated list of certified decontamination specialists in the state of Utah.
