Vernal, UT Feb. 17, 2022 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) announces that as of Feb. 17, 2022 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. TCHD reports today 12,546 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area, an increase of 16 new cases from yesterday. There are currently 905 active cases.
Over the past seven days the tri-county area has seen 18 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and four new COVID-19 related deaths.
TCHD will no longer be issuing a press release weekly when transmission rates are low. The weekly press release and social media posts will be reserved for high and moderate transmission rate status for public awareness. Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 22 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 790/100,000, which equates to 284 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 23 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 895/100,000, which equates to 178 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 29 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 877/100,000, which equates to nine cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 81 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 27 percent.
For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
