Vernal, UT Dec. 17, 2020 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of Dec. 17, 2020Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).
Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.
From Dec. 10-16, 2020 Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 23 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 751/100,000, which equates to 266 cases in the past 14 days.
From Dec. 10-16, 2020 Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 23 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 796/100,000, which equates to 159 cases in the past 14 days.
From Dec. 10-16, 2020 Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 3 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 408/100,000, which equates to 4 cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 97 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 42 percent.
Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen 17 COVID-19 related hospitalizations and five COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates the individual resides.
