Vernal, UT Feb. 18, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of Feb. 18, 2021 Uintah County moved to moderate transmission level, Duchesne County moved to moderate transmission level and Daggett stayed in low transmission level.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).
Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.
From Feb. 11-17, 2021 Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 8 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 307/100,000, which equates to 109 cases in the past 14 days.
From Feb. 11-17, 2021 Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 4 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 210/100,000, which equates to 42 cases in the past 14 days.
From Feb. 11-17, 2021 Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 0 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 0/100,000, which equates to zero cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 81 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 22 percent.
Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen six COVID-19 related hospitalizations and zero COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
