Vernal, UT Feb. 24, 2022 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) announces that as of Feb. 24, 2022 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. TCHD reports today 12,618 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area, an increase of 13 new cases from yesterday. There are currently 458 active cases.
Over the past seven days the tri-county area has seen six new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and one new COVID-19 related death.
TCHD will no longer be issuing a press release weekly when transmission rates are low. The weekly press release and social media posts will be reserved for high and moderate transmission rate status for public awareness. Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 14 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 306/100,000, which equates to 110 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 16 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 422/100,000, which equates to 84 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 25 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 195/100,000, which equates to two cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 74 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 20 percent.
For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
