Vernal, UT June 24, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of June 24, 2021 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in moderate transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).
Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.
Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 18 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 353/100,000, which equates to 126 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 6 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 186/100,000, which equates to 37 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 0 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 316/100,000, which equates to 3 cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 76 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 13 percent.
Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen 5 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and zero new COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
