Vernal, UT June 3, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of June 3, 2021 Uintah County is in moderate transmission level, Duchesne County is in moderate transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. As there are no longer public health orders in place, TCHD continues to update regarding transmission levels for public awareness.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.
Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 7 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 123/100,000, which equates to 44 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 6 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 171/100,000, which equates to 34 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 14 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 526/100,000, which equates to 5 cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 68 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 10 percent.
Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen four new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and zero new COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
