Vernal, UT March 11, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of March 11, 2021 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in moderate transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).
Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.
Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 12 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 446/100,000, which equates to 158 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 5 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 120/100,000, which equates to 24 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 0 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 0/100,000, which equates to 0 cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 69 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 15 percent.
Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen eight COVID-19 related hospitalizations and 1 COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
