Vernal, UT Nov. 18, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) announces that as of Nov. 18, 2021 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. TCHD reports today 8,749 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area, an increase of 14 new cases from yesterday. There are currently 489 active cases. 

 

Over the past seven days the tri-county area has seen 12 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and six new COVID-19 related deaths.

 

Case counts and trends are doing better for now throughout the tri-county area. TCHD will no longer be issuing a press release weekly when transmission rates are low. The weekly press release and social media posts will be reserved for high and moderate transmission rate status for public awareness. Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 16 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was  644/100,000, which equates to 230 cases in the past 14 days.

 

Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 11 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was  441/100,000, which equates to 88 cases in the past 14 days.

 

Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 17 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 105/100,000, which equates to one case in the past 14 days.

 

Statewide total ICU utilization 93 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 42 percent. 

 

For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
