Vernal, UT Nov. 19, 2020 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of Nov. 19, 2020 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level.

A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).

Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.

From Nov. 12-18, 2020  Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 25 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 864/100,000, which equates to 306 cases in the past 14 days.

From Nov. 12-18, 2020 Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 19 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 741/100,000, which equates to 148 cases in the past 14 days.

From Nov. 12-18, 2020 Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was zero percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 0/100,000, which equates to zero cases in the past 14 days.

Statewide total ICU utilization 89 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 37 percent.

Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen 17 COVID-19 related hospitalizations and zero COVID-19 related deaths. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates the individual resides.
