Vernal, UT Nov. 5, 2020 – TriCounty Health Department announces that as of Nov. 5, 2020 Uintah County is in High transmission level, Duchesne County is in High transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. 

 

A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health (UDOH).

 

Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing. 

 

From Oct. 29, 2020-Nov. 4, 2020 Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 16 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 556/100,000, which equates to 197 cases in the past 14 days.

 

From Oct. 29, 2020-Nov. 4, 2020 Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 15 and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 321/100,000, which equates to 64 cases in the past 14 days.

 

From Oct. 29, 2020-Nov. 4, 2020 Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was zero percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 0/100,000, which equates to 0 cases in the past 14 days.

 

Statewide total ICU utilization 74 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 25 percent. 

 

Over the past 7 days the tri-county area has seen nine new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and one new COVID-19 related death. For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates the individual resides.
