Vernal, UT Oct. 21, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) announces that as of Oct. 21, 2021 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. TCHD reports today 8,086 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area, an increase of 23 new cases from yesterday. There are currently 690 active cases.
Over the past seven days the tri-county area has seen 14 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and one new COVID-19 related death.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission, this metric is calculated weekly. There are currently no public health orders, these stats are for informational purposes only. Remember to practice good hand hygiene and stay home when sick.
Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 16 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 761/100,000, which equates to 272 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 20 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 848/100,000, which equates to 169 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 50 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 1,052/100,000, which equates to 10 cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 90 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 40 percent.
