Vernal, UT Sept. 9, 2021 – TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) announces that as of Sept. 9, 2021 Uintah County is in high transmission level, Duchesne County is in high transmission level and Daggett is in low transmission level. TCHD reports today 6,243 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area, an increase of 97 new cases from yesterday. There are currently 849 active cases.
Over the past seven days the tri-county area has seen 30 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and three new COVID-19 related deaths.
A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission, this metric is calculated weekly. There are currently no public health orders, these stats are for informational purposes only. Remember to practice good hand hygiene and stay home when sick.
Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 18 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 758/100,000, which equates to 271 cases in the past 14 days.
Duchesne County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 28 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 1,595/100,000, which equates to 318 cases in the past 14 days.
Daggett County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 15 percent and the 14-day case rate per 100,000 population was 947/100,000, which equates to nine cases in the past 14 days.
Statewide total ICU utilization 89 percent. Seven-day COVID-19 utilization is 35 percent.
For the purpose of these rates, the Ute Indian Tribe contributes to the county numbers and rates in which the individual resides.
